If at first you don’t succeed.

Happy Wednesday, folks.

This week, my client + I found ourselves baffled about a situation that I find all too common in business.

Let me take a few minutes to share it with you now to see if you relate.

She asked me to research a vendor for a project.

My client knew exactly what she needed, when she needed it, why she needed it, how much she was willing to pay for it…you name it – and she had a clear vision for her ideal candidate.

There was no mistaking any portion of the job.

And yet I received proposals from people who weren’t even close to meeting her needs.  They either hadn’t read my request or they thought that I wouldn’t notice that they were coming in at triple her budget.  Or lived in a different state.  Or, or, or.

After some time, when all was said and done, I felt comfortable bringing her my selection.  They seemed pretty darn perfect.

And then they did a half-hearted job.  Rrrrrr.

My initial reaction was to make a clean-break + begin my vendor search anew.

And then I decided that this approach might not be the most efficient path.

Instead I upped my game.

I wrote to the vendor, and explained, in even more detail, what my client was shooting for and where his company had fallen short of her expectations.

To the vendor’s credit, they gracefully accepted our feedback + promised to get it right when they returned to work with her this week.

And then they didn’t show up.

Have you ever been there?

My Juicy Glad-I-Caught-That:  An improved go is worth a shot.  But when someone or something fails you a second – or third or twentieth – time it’s time to cut the cord + move on, sweetheart.

Who has used their last shot with you?  What tasks do you oversee now that could be handled more elegantly?  What do you need to let go of?  Improve?

I want you to learn how to ask for what you need, expect great results, and then bask in the glow of your financial freedom – the first time.

Well, maybe it won’t be perfect right away, but it should be a constant improvement –don’t you agree?

If you are ready to do this, send me an email + we can connect to see if my program, Pen Your Processes, is a good fit for you.

One lucky blog subscriber [make yourself one of these cool people by click “Notify me of new posts by email” below] is going to receive my program at no-cost.  So add your name to the hat + keep checking me out.

If you want to make your vision, and business, bigger + better – who or what are you allowing to stand in your way?

In love,

N
